The items in the first category will be hammer, wooden saw, screws, nails, measuring tape, screw driver, filer, hack saw and a brush. Other items that you would need are a wooden frame, 4 mm glass, a marine-ply sheet, glass fiber wool, 16wg aluminum sheet and a 10 mm annealed copper tube. For making Home solar heating equipment we will use the copper tube to carry water from the collector area. Attach the absorber plate that will absorb heat and transfer this heat to the copper tube. You have to encase this absorber plate in the wooden frame. Aluminum is the cheapest material to work as absorber and is very easily available. You need to cover the heating panel with a transparent cover that will prevent loss of heat. Glass is the best material for this. If it is costly for you then you can use acrylic sheet as substitute but these discolor soon. Your diy solar heating panel is ready to use. This may not be as good as the commercial ones but is perfect to meet your requirements. Its efficiency is no way lesser to the commercial ones and the cost of a commercial one is almost 3 times the cost of the one that you can make at home. You can use it to heat the water in your pool and also for supplying hot water in your kitchen and bathrooms.
