What do Howard Stern, Jon Schneider and Dwayne Johnson have in common

? They're all men who've undergone surgical liposuction (also called lipoplasty and suction lipectomy). These three fairly different celebrities have all undergone the surgery, which removes excess fat from a patient's body through the assistance of suction. The three stars got the surgery done in different places, reflecting their different bodies and different needs.

Dwayne Johnson is perhaps best known for his time wrestling as "The Rock." Since transitioning into acting, the imposing and muscular Johnson has starred in movies such as "The Scorpion King" and "Get Smart." Johnson allegedly underwent liposuction of the chest in 2005. According to one source, Johnson admitted getting the surgery, stating that he got it because he felt like his chest was getting too big: "It was an aesthetic thing . . . I was walking around with my shirt off all the time, so I had it done."

Howard Stern got a very different procedure. Stern admitted having gotten a lipoplasty and a rhinoplasty (commonly called a nose job) when promoting a new radio show. Stern's lipoplasty removed fat from his chin and neck area. This surgery was designed to help him lose a double chin that he felt he had been developing. Stern hid the details of his surgery for a while; as he put it, he was afraid that his fans would find his surgeries "very gay." According to Stern, the results from his surgeries were so subtle that neither his fans nor members of his family suspected surgical help.

Jon Schneider is an actor who may be best known for his roles in "The Dukes of Hazzard" and "Smallville." In "Smallville," Schneider plays the stern and strong earthly father of Clark Kent. Schneider's lipoplasty was performed on his stomach, which is the most popular area for the surgery among men. According to "Extra," Schneider got the surgery done because he was frustrated with his inability to lose belly fat. Schneider reportedly said, "I went the liposuction route a couple years ago. I did 1000 sit-ups and nothing was happening." Schneider is reportedly happy with his new appearance: "The result was great!" However, he also points out that the surgery was no cakewalk: "It hurt like hell!"

While these men are some of the more famous men to undergo lipoplasty, they are by no means the only ones who do. Every year, tens of thousands of Americans undergo the surgery. Lipoplasty is the most popular cosmetic surgery among American men.
