Hybrid Cars, Environmentally Friendly Automotive Breakthrough
On June 8, 2008, the Toyota car company in Japan announced it would donate 78 hybrid cars for G8 summit held on 7 to 9 July 2008 in Hokkaido
. Of course, this is one of Toyota's marketing strategies. G8 Summit is a great event where the leaders of developed countries gather each year. This is a golden opportunity for Toyota to introduce products throughout the world.
Hybrid cars is the car with the newest technologies which discussed by many people in automotive world. Called hybrids because the car uses two types of energy sources namely gasoline and electricity. To be used, a car must meet several requirements. First, it must be a distance of at least 300 miles, or 482 km before the energy to recharge, so will not bothering the driver. Second, refueling can be done easily and quickly. Third, it must be just as quick with another vehicle on the road so as not to impede traffic.
Gasoline cars that we use now can meet all these requirements, but produces excessive pollution. While the electric-powered car, almost no pollution at all, but can only travel a maximum distance of 50 Km each time a refill. Moreover, the process repeats the contents very slow and not easy. Hybrid car combines the advantages of both.
The world has long dreamed of environmentally friendly cars. Namely: a car which is free carbon emissions so as not to aggravate global warming. This dream later turned into an urgent need for fuel prices skyrocketing. Hydrogen-fueled cars or alcohol still need time to develop, hybrids may be the most widely marketed because it does not require new infrastructure.

Share: With hybrid technology, car engine works with gasoline can be reduced because it does not work alone. Energy needed to run a car can also be obtained from the electric motor contained therein. Hybrid cars are also designed so that it can work with minimum energy. Engines smaller car automatically makes the overall weight of the car becomes lighter. This makes the car requires less energy when climbing a hill. Body of the car is also designed with aerodynamic models that friction with the air can be reduced. Thus, the use of fuel can be reduced.
With such a variety of advanced technology, no wonder if the cost of hybrid cars little bit expensive. Come to think of weird too, to save the cost of gasoline, we actually have to spend more money to buy a hybrid car. To saving money but at first we have to spend money too.
If you cant afford to buy this modern technology, there are ways to drive to save fuel, even with a conventional car. For example: with driving slower. Cars with air friction increase dramatically when you accelerate the pace of the car. This makes the car so wasteful of gasoline. Fixed speed is also more fuel efficient. Why? Because every time we accelerate the pace of the car, we use energy, then when we reduce the speed again, we use more energy. By repeatedly speed up and slow down the cars, we use energy twice than if we are drove with constant velocity.
One more important thing is do not suddenly stop. When we are suddenly stopped, the brakes worked hard to absorb the speed of the car instantaneously and turn it into heat which then discarded. That means we spend the unnecessary energy.
Hybrid cars or not, reducing air pollution and saving energy, we can do that right now. It all depends on the willingness and attitude every-day.
