Yes, it seems the spotlight has finally been taken away from the Japanese manufacturer, though you cant argue it didnt have its fun in the sun. But the new gap has suddenly put the automotive industry up for grabs, and the title is any manufacturers for the taking.

The latest contender to the Toyota throne is Hyundai, a manufacturer that has retained a consistent status in the industry but is only now taking huge leaps forward as an innovator. Downers Grove Hyundai Sonata dealerships are proud to announce that the 2011 Hyundai Sonata has been named a Top Safety Pick by the prestigious Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). The new accolade is based on front, side and rear rollover crash tests, where vehicles must earn at least a Good rating to be considered for the award.
