Flying is not the great thrill that people make it out to be

. You have to go through the whole process of packing your things. You have to wait at the check in desk. You also have to wait on the plane before takeoff. Then there is the long flight cooped up in the plane. You may even have a fear of flying.

There are still a few things that you could do to try to make this experience as enjoyable as it can be, and it does not always have to be a trying time.

Only try to pack what you really need to take with you. Why pack all that extra luggage that you may never use? It can be such a hassle carrying all those packed suitcases, especially when you are not going to use everything inside them.

If you are on a short haul journey or just on a business trip, why not try to get everything that you need in your hand luggage? This way you will not need to wait at baggage control after your flight to pick up your luggage. This can sometimes take quite a while.

It may be a good idea if you were to bring along a snack for your journey. Sometimes there is not a lot of choice once you are on your flight, and this is probably due to cut backs by the airlines.

There are always lots of restaurants in the airport where you can choose a decent meal to have before your flight. These can be a better option than the in-flight meals that are sometimes served. In fact some flights do not even serve in flight meals anymore.

It may be a good idea to go to the public convenience stops before you board your flight. Sometimes you may have to wait up to an hour or so after take off before you can leave your seat to use the ones on the plane.
