Next time you are doing arm curls, when you are on the last 2 reps of the last set, lift the bar up so that you muscles are contracted. Then, flex your muscles as hard as you can, and hold this flex for 20 seconds.
Doing this causes a painful "burn" in your muscles. This burn is caused by lactic acid being released, when this acid is released your body also releases growth hormone in order to act as a recovery aid.
