West Malling is a beautiful area of Kent which is home to Kings Hill - the area with

the highest average income and the highest proportion of households earning greater than 100,000 per year in the UK. This fact - combined with its proximity to London and its rich historical heritage - means that for people looking for new homes, West Malling is an eminently desirable location.

The town lies in the Tonbridge and Malling borough of Kent, and has been occupied for thousands of years. In fact, there is plenty of evidence that people lived in the area during the Bronze and Iron Ages, as well as evidence of Romano-British habitation. Historic religious buildings can be found in Malling, Aylesford and Tonbridge with some dating back as early as the 11th Century, whilst there are also castles that date back to the 13th Century.

West Malling itself is a market town, located just 35 miles from central London. It's next to a main road connecting London with Folkestone and Dover. In fact, West Malling is about a mile from Junction 4 of the M20 and Junction 2 of the M26, which leads on to the M25. It also takes less than an hour to reach Victoria by train, and as of 2010 commuters can reach London Bridge and Cannon Street via a direct train. As a result, West Malling is a popular commuter location.

Sports fans will be excited to learn that the first recorded cricket match in Kent is believed to have been held at West Malling. The town's sporting heritage even made it onto the British currency; in the early 1990s a 10 banknote was placed into circulation that featured an illustration of the cricket match between All Muggleton and Dingley Dell, which was featured in Charles Dickins' Pickwick Papers.

For the music fans, West Malling featured on the Beatles' Magical Mystery Tour in 1967. The band at one point actually owned Douce's Manor, located between the town and the nearby airfield.

Location is one of the most important factors when looking at new homes; West Malling boasts a diverse cultural heritage that will attract house hunters for many years to come.
