We need lots of energy to work and accomplish things in our everyday life

. We also need energy to enjoy time with our family and friends. But there are simply times or occasions when we don't feel like moving. The reason is there are tons of energy-sappers around us and we need to get rid of them to maintain a life that is active and fun.

When you talk about energy, what first comes into mind is food. There are foods that can boost up your energy and there are foods that can drain you of energy. Your goal is to get rid of energy-draining foods and add more energy-boosting foods on your diet. Sugar is your enemy since too much of it can cause your energy level to be in a rollercoaster. Stick to fresh fruits and vegetables for more energy and don't forget to drink plenty of water.

The human body is not designed to stay active for 24 hours. Make sure you give your body the amount of sleep and rest that it needs. If you have a big day the next day, get to bed as early as 10 o'clock to give your body more time to recharge. Power naps are also effective in boosting your energy level during the day.

Take multivitamin supplements if you feel that your diet doesn't offer you enough nutrients that help boost your energy. Multivitamins do not only help strengthen your immune system and protect you against diseases, they also help improve your energy level by providing your mind and body with adequate amounts of vitamins and nutrients.


Physical stress and mental stress are energy-sappers as well. Among the two, mental stress drains your energy faster than any energy robber that you know. Mental stress is usually a result of worry and anxiety so once you stop worrying about your problems, you get rid of a potential energy-sapper. Beat physical stress as well through regular exercise.

Try to engage more in activities where you know you can enjoy the most. Doing so might just get rid of the boredom that's possible causing you to feel lazy and tired. If you are not sure of what's really causing the low in your energy level, set an appointment with your doctor and see whether there are other underlying symptoms that might be causing it.
