The demands of modern architecture have led to some interesting challenges for the

structural steelwork industry, not least in the area of deep trusses that often require on site drilling and positioning. With steel thicknesses up to and beyond 100mm, this has made higher demands on the drilling and broaching equipment used. In-positional drilling requirements also meant these holes were often needed to be drilled vertically up or at an angle where coolant application was very difficult.

Reacting to demand from the UK's largest steelwork firms, the new CBR Lube has been ddeveloped to overcome various issues, including accidents where it was believed that conventional oil lubricants had led to magnet compromise (excess oil and debris on the material had prevented proper magnet hold), and areas where 'runny' lubricants could not be used due to environmental concerns, such as over water.

CBR Lube solves many traditional problems-

High viscosity means that the lubricant sticks to the material exactly where it is applied. No run off to surrounding areas, which means no lengthy clearing up needed.Aerosol applied. Spray directly where the lubricant is most needed. This is very important on deep vertical up holes, where gravity prevents most conventional lubricants from being effective. The paste in a tin (temaxol type) method is difficult to apply to the actual cutting zone at the bottom of a deep cut. This is where the aerosol application is needed to get into the cutting zone. For use on untreated steel which will have to be then painted or galvanized, CBR Lube is very effective as it can be simply wiped away after it has been used. No puddling of liquid coolant or extensive clearing up. This means it is also very economical as less can be used.
