In The Heat Of The Moment - Infidelity A moment can change everything in your life. All your principles, all your doubts, everything put into perspective. It happened this New Years to a close friend. A drunken roll in the hay and all her decisions have been made. If not made, set into motion, because there is no looking back. When I think about all that happened to her that night, it appears so simple. She had started drinking at home while getting ready, watching her housemates doll themselves up, on their way to their various parties. Later, she was walking through the streets to pick up a pizza just before popping next door for a party. What is it about New Year's Eve that men who have no parties to go to become virtual penises on the streets? They are on the prowl, trying to pick you up, and aggressively so. It was strange. Yet my friend was not threatened. There was a certain positive vibe in the air at the end of 2009. No instance of panic, or of fear. Just the surety that she could take care of herself, that she was capable of dealing with any man if she needed to. She got back home safe and sound, not having lost her temper or anything else that is precious. She had a bite and went next door to continue getting pissed. Her good humour intact, strengthened by that walk outside. The party was well under way when she got in. Ah hello neighbour, and the dancing and drinking continued. When you are at a party and don't know many the anonymity can add a certain thrill. Another friend, a young woman looking for love but so very particular about whom she will choose, was equally fired up. They took over the dance floor. Occasionally, one of the men living in the house would bring a whole load of others to add to the craze on the floor. With his sunglasses on to keep those fading eyes hidden from the prying eyes of others, he had a certain air about him. Something that made my friend notice him. As the evening progressed, my pal found herself lying down on a bed, taking some time for herself in a room where she thought everyone else was asleep. Everyone, except for the boy with the sunglasses, who was taking a break himself. Before you knew it, they were locked in what can only be the meeting of wavelengths that had been travelling through centuries, instantly drawn in without knowing how or why, without words. The details are blurred but when my friend talks about it, all she can clearly remember is a naked young man, live in front of her. What a wonderful sight! That he lives next door, that she had never really spoken to him, that she will not go back unless they have met somewhere on the street and found a connection all of it is true. But I feel she cherishes that moment, even if it means that she cheated on her boyfriend. For, unknowingly, fate pushed her to make her decision. She had not been sure about her boyfriend for a long time yet could not get down to making a decision either way. Now she would be forced to do it. In a way I envy her, for that experience is precious, and she has been forced to take an action. I equally unsure about my partner do not need to make a decision right now. Once again I am reminded of how fleeting our concepts of love and commitment are.About the Author:
