Information On Crane Operator Training
If you are interested in becoming a crane operator
, there are a few things you must do before you can be certified and be employable to do this kind of work. First thing you need to do is to enroll in a
cran operator training school. You will need to successfully complete specialized courses before you can benefit from the high pay this type of work offers.
National Association of Heavy Equipment Training Schools offers several different programs that you can receive certifications from. They have schools all over the country so there more than likely is one in your area. These schools that are members of the National Association of Heavy Equipment Training Schools all must follow the requirements to be a member. Those requirements are a full time college president, full time director of placements, full time financial aid director, admissions director, heavy equipment director, certified heavy equipment training instructors, minimum of twenty acres to train on, two to four classrooms, and no business dealings going on at the campus or training site.
These schools over several different programs to their students. The first one is Heavy Equipment Operator I, Heavy Equipment Operator II and the most advanced Mobile Crane Operations. All the instructors that teach these programs are all certified by the National Association o Heavy Equipment Training Schools.
If the student does not want to go on they could have enough skills to go out and get a entry level job. Requirements for this program are simple, valid drivers license, a completed application and finally acceptance into the program.
Heavy Equipment Operator 2 consists training the students to handle more advanced heavy equipment, must take this program if the student wants to move on to level III.. Equipment they will be trained to use will be backhoes, wheel loaders, skid steers, tractors, bulldozers, scrapers, water pulls and fork lifts. The student will be certified in all these different pieces of heavy equipment and will have the opportunity to work at entry level or above upon graduation. Requirements for this program is the level I program, drivers license, completed application and acceptance into the program.
Crane Operation program is one of the more advanced programs that is offered. In order to qualify for this program the student must either have certifications in both Heavy Equipment Operator I and II. Or they can have on the job experience that qualifies them. Both of these must be verifiable. If the student is unable to get verification then they can take a basic skills test and if they pass they will be admitted as long as they have a drivers license and a completed application.
It is very important that when you decide to take this training you find a school that is certified by the NAHETS. Remember, it is OK to ask them to show you their certification before enrolling in their program.
