One of the components of the Worker Compensation Management Program (WCMP) is the return to work program otherwise known as the RTW
. It is geared towards ensuring that workers who have been injured during their line of duty can come back to work at the soonest time possible. It is also aimed at avoiding the situations of discrimination regarding the capacity of the worker to carry out the same work that they have done prior to the accident.
In order to hasten the process of getting the employees back to their work as soon as possible, there are two possible ways to do this. The modified work program is one alternative, which is focused on giving the employees back their original jobs but with restrictions as provided for by their physicians. Some of the restrictions may include reduction of workloads, restriction of typical work activities and other restrictions advised by the physician.
Another alternative that can hasten up the process is through the temporary alternate work program, which means that workers can return to work but only on a temporary job. The reason being is because the original job has no room for modification or restriction. According to the advice of doctors, the worker shall be given the type of work that will comply with the medical opinion so that feelings of inadequacies are avoided and eliminated in the process.
No matter which type of return to work program that they will be utilizing, the major benefit that they can get is the boost on their morale as workers. Because despite the fact that they have went through an excruciating injury during their line of work, they will still feel needed and compensated. This helps them to be better at whatever job they go into.
Through this return to work program, workers may find themselves compensated not only for their hard labors but also for the accident that they have met under the current management of the company that they are working with.
Indeed, the return to work program is a form of workers compensation with benefits that are extremely useful not only in terms of providing financial stability through their work but also in the mental and emotional therapy that workers need in order to recuperate from their accidents well.
