The Lexus IS F is the newest high performance model in Lexus IS series

. Among its improvements over the regular IS line are sharper handling, new high tech features and a beautiful new all white interior. Lexus dealers across the UK are already stocking them and the following are just a few of the improvements and upgrades available for the ultra high performance saloon.

The IS F comes with a limited slip differential, which gives the car significantly better traction and stability in high speed cornering. In fact, Lexus test engineers were able to improve the cars lap time around the Fuji International Speedway by an incredible two seconds. Also, the Torsen unit is robust enough to handle the 505Nm that the IS Fs 5 litre V8 engine delivers and the unit automatically directs drive torque to the rear wheel with the most grip, which greatly assists in maneuverability. However, out-and-out performance remains unchanged, with the IS F capable of 0 to 60 mph acceleration in 4.8 seconds and a top speed of 168mph (which is electronically limited).

In keeping with Lexus reputation for effective use of modern technologies, the IS F comes with a new satellite navigation system, which is powered by a 40GB hard disc drive and it is one of the fastest responding and most accurate guidance systems available, giving full map coverage across Europe. It also automatically links to local traffic information data to help guarantee efficient route planning, so you do not get stuck in traffic. Furthermore, the hard disc drive provides an on-board sound library function, with 10GB of disc space available for owners to store tracks from CDs, which is enough space for around 2,000 songs, meaning you can leave your CD collection at home.

To go along with the hard disc drive, the IS F has much improved audio hardware. The car comes with a 14-speaker Mark Levinson 5.1 surround sound system and the tuner has been upgraded to receive DAB digital broadcasts. In addition, Lexus added a USB port to go along with the standard auxiliary jack, which allows for a fully integrated connection with your iPod or other digital audio player, meaning that the IS F gives you many options for listening to music whilst you are on the go.

One of the other luxury features that has been added to the IS F is an all new leather interior, as well as fantastic alloy wheel options. The IS F can be ordered with a new white leather interior as opposed to the standard black finish that comes on other IS models. This car also comes with new mesh design 19 inch alloy wheels, which are an upgrade over the standard 10 spoke design on the rest of the range. Luckily for prospective buyers, both of these additions are no-cost options.

Priced at 55,595 pounds on the road, the new 2011 Lexus IS F is expected to be one of Lexus best selling cars of the year and it is therefore recommended to head down to any of the Lexus dealers sooner rather than later to find out for yourself.
