I feel that to obtain the very best results, you should make a trip out to the local

rental store and rent a laser level for a day to get the installation started off on the level. In all honesty, this is going to give you the most accurate level line possible.

Set up is very easy, and within a few minutes, you will be able to shoot the corners of the kitchen. This is when you can go around the corners of the walls and mark the level line locations.

You can then go around and connect all of the laser marks that you transferred with a chalk line. Make sure though that you follow this next step. Pull the chalk line as tight as possible to make sure that the line is not sagging in the middle. This will ensure that the line is not sagging in the center. Double check the lines by using the laser level again, making sure that the lines match up with each other.

You can use a four foot level if you cannot rent a laser level, and you can obtain just about the same results. You will need to be extremely accurate when reading the bubble in the four foot level.

After you have found the high point of the floor, you can use the level to start drawing the lines. While you draw out the lines, I suggest that you have a helper hold the other end of the level.

Now, you will need to flip the level end for end and start back towards the beginning of the line that you have drawn. You will know when you return to the beginning if the level is accurate. You will know if the level is accurate if the lines match up at the high point of the floor. If the lines do not match up, then you will need to purchase a new one to get the job done correctly.

You can avoid any of these problems by renting a laser levl to at least get you started. The lines will be perfectly level by utilizing a laser level, and this is the reason that I highly suggest that you use one. This step is just like a building's foundation. This is where you need to pay close attention to detail.
