Install Tiles The Easy Way

You might be thinking about installing floor tiles in your home

. But installing tiles could cost you a lot of money when you get the help of a professional. But why hire someone to do it for you when installing tiles is really easy.

It is important to keep in mind that before starting any project you have to secure the right tools to be used. Just follow these simple steps to install tiles easily on your own.

1. Before installing your new set of tiles you first have to completely remove the old flooring. Repair all holes or cracks on the floor if there are any. You wouldn't want to end up with improperly tiled floor with these conditions. Make sure that the floor is clean and free from trimmings.

2. Before laying out any tiles you should first make a plan and take time to make a layout of the tile flooring. This is an important step since if you've plan and made a layout of the design, where you would want the tiles to be placed and how far the tiles are from each other. This will keep you from making mistakes in laying the tiles later on therefore saving you time and energy. It is essential that you center the floor tiles in the room. This will make the room pleasing to the eye.

3. When your layout is complete you can start cutting up the tiles. Cutting also requires plans. Using paper to make a pattern on how you will cut your tile is helpful. You can mark the cut you want on the paper and then transfer it to the tile itself.

4. When you are done with the cutting, you can now lay down the tiles. You have to start laying out the tiles from the center of the floor to the walls. Apply adhesive on the floor and at the back of the tile. Work in small portions so it wouldn't be a problem reapplying adhesive on the floor in case it dries up. Use spacers to maintain equal spaces between the tiles.

5. When the adhesive is dry, clean the tiles and the area around them. Apply grout to fill in the spaces between the tiles. Wipe any excess grout on the tile.

Installing tiles on your own is really easy when you carefully follow the steps and use the proper tools. The best part is you get to save a great deal of money from not hiring anyone to do this simple job for you.
