This procedure completely takes care of each area of the existing architecture that may be a source of heat loss. Every such location is identified and sealed using the various insulating materials available depending on the specific requirement of the building.

For instance, if retrofit insulation needs to be done for a crevice or a hole then loose fill materials are used that could penetrate, expand and solidify in the tiny gap that is otherwise inaccessible. On the other hand, some spots might pose a threat of catching fire and in that case, a fire- retardant material would be a preferred choice and so on.

Fiberglass insulation is one of the most extensively used forms of fire- proof insulation now-a-days. Being inorganic, the material does not catch fire, however it can melt if the temperatures become too high. The popularity of fiberglass insulation can be attributed to many of the characteristics of the material used in the process.

It generally comes in the form of batts or rolls with fiberglass kept between the layers that can be cut easily, so much so that you can do it yourself. Fiberglass insulation is therefore convenient to install and can be used to insulate areas of any size or shape. Given its design, fiber glass insulation neither shrinks nor does its insulation capacity change throughout.
