Internet Marketing Tips - Making a Killing Or Killing Your Customers?

Sometimes we lose sight of what's really important

. I have to admit that I have been guilty of this myself. It's easy to get caught up in the rat race of Internet marketing and always chasing the mighty dollar. But let me ask you a question. Are you making a killing or killing your customers? Not sure? Then you might want to read this article. I think it will be a real eye opener.

One thing I enjoy is heading over to the Warrior Forum and reading the opinions of certain marketers about selling. One person in particular (no names mentioned) feels that as long as you're not breaking any laws, anything goes. That means hounding your list with an email a day if necessary. Heck, even three emails a day if that's what it takes. I have been on quite a few lists where I was getting emailed constantly.

Sell, sell, sell...at all costs.

Please don't get me wrong. I am an Internet marketer and I realize that ultimately, we are doing this to make a living. I am all for free enterprise and trying to do the best you can. But at what point are you doing your best and at what point are you just ticking off your prospective customers? Where is that very fine line? And trust me, it is a fine line. Like I said, I am a marketer and I understand about being marketed to. Heck, I even buy things from time to time.

But when you email me three times a day...everyday...I'm GONE.

And this is just one example, how you treat your list. What about how you treat the people who come to your sales pages from outside your list? How many upsells and OTOs do you offer before they're able to escape you and head for shelter? I've seen sales pages with as many as three or four OTOs, upsells, downsells and just about everything you can think of. At one point, I simply did control-alt-delete to close my browser because I couldn't get out of the maze.

Think I'll EVER buy something from that person?

I'm not here to be your conscience. You have to do what works for you. And if emailing your list three times a day and having a sales page with a million upsells works for you, then by all means...go for it. But think about all the people you just MIGHT be alienating because you're killing your customers and not just making a killing.

To YOUR Success,

Stev
