Digital Marketing just had a babydid you hear? They named her Social Media Marketing, and already, she's a hit. The two types of marketing are widely used today and have given some brands the boost they've been looking for.

One example of what companies are doing for effective advertising is having celebrities talk about their product or products on Twitter. I don't know how many times I've stumbled across Kim Kardashian's Twitter page and seen tweets about Quick Trim, a dietary supplement. This brand had the right idea. Not only did they use a celebrity endorsement approach, but also they took it to the next level of creatinga successful ad campaign. Twitter is already popular among people, but to have a person who has many followers promoting your product throughout the year is icing on the cake. That is exactly what Social Media Marketing is: icing on the cake. It influences consumer behavior, helps you brand yourself and creates a buzz about you, which could lead to word of mouth advertising.

This shouldn't drive anyone away from Digital Marketing. It all goes hand in hand. Should a company like Quick Trim stop at Twitter? Definitely not. The best thing to do is put your stamp on every website your target audience visits. More people spend time on the Internet today than ever, so spending large amounts of money on television ads may not be the best idea.

The problem is that most traditional companies are having to learn how to use social media sites, but this is something that can benefit them tremendously.
