Stucco is generally a mixture of lime, sand and water which is used mainly for coating for walls and ceilings and other decoration purposes
. Stucco is applied in a wet state and later it would be converted into a dense solid form. The main purpose of Stucco is to cover unfinished construction materials or less appealing ones such as concrete, clay brick, cinder block etc and convert them into a much appealing and beautiful looking form.
Stucoo is considered as the most reliable and durable exterior and interior coating and its use is being increased considerably in the recent years. Stucoo has been there since a long time and have ever since be used for decorative and architectural finishing. Stucco can be applied either manually or with the help of a stucco sprayer which makes it more easier. The use of hand or a mechanical stucco sprayer depends upon the complexity and requirement of the work.
Even though the traditional stucco comprises of lime, sand and water, the modern stucco is a little different as it is composed of portland cement, sand and water. In the case of modern stucco lime is added to increase the quality and durability of the stucco. Acrylics and glass fibers are also added to the stucco to improve the durability and structural properties of the stucco coatings. Stucco is available in various textures and colors and is used to protect and decorate the interior walls of a building .
The two ways by which a stucco can be applied are 1) By hand with the help of a hawk and a trowel and 2) With the help of a mechanical stucco sprayer. Applying stucco by hand is a much harder way to do it and it often lacks the finishing touch and also takes a lot of time. The best way to apply stucco is with the help of a various stucco tools such as plaster sprayer or stucco sprayer, and it helps to reduce a lot of labour and time. Stucco sprayers also provides a good finishing touch which makes your stucco coating appear more professional and good looking.
