Yesterday, I was looking for some fun iPhone 4 applications and was astonished to
see that the Apple app store is cluttered with so great many applications most of them with paid features and some with limited functionality. As I see it, a majority of these apps werent utilising the real power of iOS 4, most importantly I found new category of iPhone 4 applications for education and also tried a few ones for my kids.
The Education category is located right upfront at the Apple app store. You can find some fabulous iPhone education apps that can make a great difference to kids education. Currently there more than 14,500 iPhone education applications, some of which are really useful.
I recently tested a few of these apps that included Basic Math app called Intro to Math ($5.99). At the first instant it occurred to me that the app is highly expensive, yet upon testing it ensured me that the price was quite reasonable due to the philosophy of education and teaching methodology used in the app.
The education category in Apples itunes contains many other titles for iPhone education apps that are worth trying too. However, the maximum advantage of an educational app can nbe gained from using it on iPad. Another great thing I like about this category is its diversity for various ages of kids.
The overall emergence of the iPhone educational apps category leads me to the idea of the commercial worth of this category. However, developing a powerful education app for kids and students require a lot of research and professional expertise and might require the involvement of sociologist and school teachers. I assume that only social media agencies can develop such applications that can achieve results.
