Is Cold Calling Leads Duplicatable In Your Network Marketing Business

?

When I joined my network marketing company I followed my company's marketing system religiously. I created a warm market list and would hand out company DVD's, CD's, Audio Tapes, Magazines, and Business cards. I would do 3-way calls with my upline's help and invite prospects out to event after event. It wasn't until I had exhausted these techniques that I tried cold calling. Oh boy what a learning experience.

I decided to try cold calling leads when everything else I was trying simply was not working. You see, this is what was going on. After my warm market list didn't pan out I went out into my community and began knocking on doors, going to malls and small businesses. I ended up working extremely hard and faced a lot of rejection but eventually recruited a few people doing this. The problem was that none of my recruits were willing to do what I was doing.

I had this no quit, do whatever it takes attitude. Even if this meant getting laughed at and having doors slammed in my face. My new recruit would sit there and listen to me and make a warm market list and try the business for a week and then quit. It was very frustrating! How could I build a business working part-time when my recruits would quit in a few days. I simply could not recruit enough people fast enough using these marketing strategies to eventually find someone willing to work.

This is when I went back to my upline and asked them what should I do? They suggested that I purchase business opportunity leads and begin cold calling them. I guess this is what many company's tell their distributors after they have exhausted their warm market list. I only had one problem. Would any of my new recruits have the mental toughness to cold call and build this business. You see, I went to cold calling as a last resort. I know the pain of many other network marketers in this industry. I knew this business was going to be hard work and I did my best not to buy into the hype, however I did expect my company to have a clear cut plan to success that worked for everyone who was willing to work. The marketing plan they taught me only works for 1% of distributors. The other 99% struggle and quit or struggle and go cold market.

I learned that cold calling is not that effective in building a network marketing business. #1 because it is NOT duplicatable and is a learned skill. It is not something any new person joining your network marketing business can do in the beginning. It takes patience, perseverance, salesmanship, and determination.

I'm sorry but most people do not come to the table with those assets. I finally came to a point in my business that I was ready to quit. One night I was browsing online and stumbled across this 26 year old punk kid who was claiming he recruited 95 people into his network marketing business without picking up the phone. I was like, 'yeah right, what a bunch of crap.' However, the curious person that I am decided to check out what he had to say. He taught that the use of technology in network marketing is king nowadays. He said that you have to be using cutting edge technologies if you want to build your business faster, easier, and smarter. He also hit on a great point that resonated with me. He said that teaching your team to use cutting edge technology is easy to do and is duplicatable.

He eventually became one of my mentor's and I owe the growth of my network marketing business to him because of the wealth of online marketing strategies he taught me to use. So to sum up this article. Cold calling is not duplicatable in network marketing. I frankly do not know why they suggest doing this. Maybe it's because it's the way businesses have been built in the past. Well it's 2010 and times are changing. It's time network marketing company's change.

I used to believe 100% in my company's marketing system until a 26 year old punk kid online showed me how he recruited 95 people into his network marketing business in 3 days without picking up the phone. http://www.TopMLMProducer.info
