I wanted to investigate several online business opportunities, due to the number of scams out there now. I started with Ignite, the marketing arm of Stream Energy, and found out some pretty good news...

Ignite is one of the companies that actually gives you the opportunity to make a lot of money in residual income and bonuses. It is based off the simple idea of marketing an essential product, energy, and expanding your network to be successful.

The Company

Ignite was launched in January 2005 in Dallas, TX as the marketing arm of Stream Energy. This joint effort was so effective that by 2009, Stream Energy had reached nearly $1 billion in revenue. This is a $500 billion industry, so they have only begun to get started as they have only 1/10th of 1% of the nationwide market right now. Stream Energy is available in Texas, Georgia, and most recently Pennsylvania.

They are riding this new wave of deregulated energy and will be expanding to more states across the northeast in the near future.

The Product

Ignite sells electricity in Texas and Pennsylvania, and natural gas in Georgia. This is a very solid product being that electricity is a necessity and everyone accounts for it in their monthly budget.

Operating in newly deregulated areas creates a ridiculous chance to compete and market their product. Every person with an electric bill in Pennsylvania right now is a potential customer, and their current electric providers are encouraging each person to switch. Delivery, service, and emergency response will still be handled by the original provider, just the name on the bill changes.

Business Plan

Ignite is based around relationship marketing and offers three ways to gain income. First is getting immediate income through different types of startup bonuses. The second way is through the leadership bonuses and the third is through the residual income that you get every month based on the customers and other people you teach to do the same thing your doing. They utilize a 3 and 10 business model, which consists of 10 customers and 3 associates that you teach to do the same thing. It is an easily duplicated process and that is why it is so effective: enroll a few customers, and teach others to do the same thing.

Verdict

This is a great chance to own your own business for very little overhead, but it will take work to be successful with it. Not everyone will want to buy energy from you or join your team. You must be able to not be effected by denial. Also, proper marketing knowledge will make this much easier. Family and friends will most likely be enough to get you started and make your money back, but to be successful you will have to figure out a marketing strategy to expand your network.
