Is It Possible To Recreate The American Middle Class By Becoming Self Employed?.

Is losing your job the end of the world?!

When you were an employee, you had a boss, you had a path to follow each day, maybe even health insurance and a regular paycheck. You liked that secure feeling-and wished it had lasted. Like most people didn't you think about becoming your own boss?, but leaving your secure full-time job seemed too risky.

Does this economy have you down? This recession combined with the worst job market in decades has eliminated a significant portion of the American middle class. Is this how you feel? Could you be caught in the next round of layoffs, are your benefits about to run out, under employed or working in the only low-paying job you could find?

Is it time to change your dream of self employment into a reality, but you don't think anyone needs what you can do? Most people think that delivering what they know how to do is what self employment is all about. Those most likely to succeed, are those who understand that it doesnt matter what business, trade, accounting service, or copywriting service you offer, for it to have any chance of succeeding, you will have to physically offer your services. Thats right all self employed people are first and foremost sales people.

A recent business week article that lays out 20 Steps to Self Employment.

Only the first step (Vet the Idea) brings up the uncomfortable question of whether or not you have a salable set of skills. If you are a licensed electrician you have salable skills, if you are an accountant you may have salable skills, if you were a middle manager or a line supervisor it is entirely possible that your entire career to that point has actually made you unemployable. And in the article it isnt until the 14th step that they casually mention, the need to sell.

I truly think that the only road to getting back into the middle class is to become self employed. The frightening thing is, most people really don't have a marketable set of skills. I don't see Craigs List, And all the other job sites will be around for a long time.

Are they any options for youi to consider?

Can you go back to school and get training in a skill you can then turn into a business?

Can a hobby (something you love doing) really provide a potential business?

Are any multi-level marketing companies providing real opportunities?

Can anyone be self employed without an advanced degree?

It is important to understand that there are all kinds of opportunities advertised and marketed available. Thousands are internet marketing schemes with completely unrealistic goals can be purchased from $29.97 to hundreds of dollars; tons of video/dvd kios businesses. In other words, there are thousands of ways to buy into one scheme or another. Ask what the odds of success are for these opportunities? To cut through this confusing environment I thought I'd supply you with a few questions to ask before investing too much time.

The top 10 questions to ask?

1.Does the business model make common sense?

2.Is there a large and easy to reach prospect base?

3.Do you have any significant long-term investment in either real estate or an expensive truck?

4.Is the compensation plan realistic and easy to understand?

5.Are you allowed to promote the business as you see fit?

6.Does the company have integrity?

7.Do your contacts encourage you to ask questions?

8.Is this something you could really be passionate about?

9.Do you have people in your life that will encourage you when things get tough?

10. Do you want to work for the person you see in the mirror every morning?

Check to see if the business opportunity you're thinking about provides.

Will it let you work from home. Working from home means it is you base of operations rather than having to rent a store front.

Be a service business whose service is consumable. The service should be needed regularly.

Provide a service that is both needed and wanted by the prospect audience.

Have potential clients who are captive and easy to reach.

Complexity in the business model is something to be avoided. If it doesn't make sense easily then it won't make sense in practice.

You ahould have products to offer that are symetrical with the service you provide.

The corporate finance plan available for your customers should be easy to use and understand.

A business opportunity that meets all these requirements can be found at Unemployment Remedy See if this is something you think you could do
