Is Izigg A Good Fit For My Business Needs? Maybe

If you've watched "Go Where the Eyes Are!", the video by Brian Underwood that can

be found on the iZigg website, you may have been impressed by the possibilities inherent in this site that caters to a burgeoning industry. I was, also, but then I did more research. Perhaps you too went further and got hit with scam alerts and the opinions of folks who were unhappy and felt that they'd been taken in. This group, which doesn't seem to know quite what its mission is, made another MLM called LocaladLinks, and that tanked taking with it a lot of these people's hard earned money.

Okay, Should We Be Skeptical About iZigg....Let's Explore!

Well, it's not easy to say what LocaladLinks was trying to do, but I can say it made a bunch of money for iZigg bigwigs and really devastated the savings of the many network marketers who invested in it. There are good ideas and bad ideas, after all. Being involved in MLM has its risks but it can also give you HUGE benefits, which is why I started with it in the first place and why you're thinking about it. So realizing that, we can investigate to see why iZigg is what it is.

SO what is iZigg and http://izigg.com/?

iZigg aims to lead in the greatly expanding arena of Mobile Marketing, Text Message Marketing, and SMS Business Cards through its unique advertising options.

iZigg leads in Mobile Marketing and focuses greatly on the ShortCode-90210. To me, this really does not seem as worthwhile as it does to iZigg, but if some people are interesting in texting "Your Name" to the short code "90210", this could be beneficial to complete a sale.

Now, as I said, Mobile Marketing is growing with lots of big names jumping on board... including Google and Apple, not to mention a large range of options already available for a business owner to take advantage of the Rising Benefits of Text Message Marketing. iZigg is not alone in this mad race to take position in the industry... Not only are there quite a few other, less popular, Mobile Marketing MLMs. There is a nearly infinite number of Mobile Marketing options, many while not MLM, offer potentially quite profitable affiliate programs.

Back to izigg...what they offer, what the costs are.

Here are the details of what is currently available with the three plans featured by iZigg. The options are called iConnect ($99.95), iConnectPro ($249.95), and iConnectUnlimited ($1500). iConnect includes 2 basic keywords and the use of 2000 or less messages each month, or $0.05 per message with no limit on the subscribers, assuming you can get that many :). iConnectPro includes 5 basic keywords with 5000 or less messages per month at a rate of $0.05 per message with no limit on the subscribers. The iConnectUnlimited plan is expensive unless you are a large corporation such as Apple. The unlimited plan still includes just 5 keywords but there is no limit on the number of messages.

Basically, I see iZigg as a suitable model for smaller companies, but the pricing is not reasonable compared to rival options. iZigg offers between 122 to 160 characters per text message. Most subscribers only pay attention to about 60 anyway, so texts must be concise. Some competitors seem to offer messages up to three times as long, but generally the amount of characters is about 160-200.

However it is often necessary to establish effective relationships with consumers by going into precise detail about specific services. When communicating with a customer they tend to read the whole memo. Many email marketing plans intend to build strong relationships with their clients. The emails I send are usually around 500-1500 words(not characters) and I spend time reading them in their entirety. Of course the majority of companies require far less descriptive communication than I do, but having the capability to do so increases the amount of potential profit.

So iZigg can't just promote its product; it also needs a strong base of clients. Clients can be brought in through iZigg, but they'll do their own research once they've entered and they'll know what the competition is offering and for how much.

So I felt it quite important to check out some of the competition out there that iZigg is facing... These were my favorite alternative options to iZigg... so to begin your research into what the competition is offering start here:

The first company I looked at http://www.promo2cell.com/ had a very large text limit but the pricing was very high, even higher than iZigg at $0.06 per text. The affiliates are great even though not MLM, there is the potential to make even more than the income offered by iZigg. So basically, pricing is close but there is a great income potential (35% following 50 sales with this company, and 5% on the tier 2 commissions).

Second link is http://www.eztexting.com/index.php. This one offers a slightly higher character limit than izigg, is cheaper, and allows more messages to be sent. It has an easy short-code - 313131. Although it is a better service for small business owners, it is not an MLM you can earn money from.

The last option is http://www.clubtexting.com which has 1000 additional texts than iZigg for $100 less (6000 texts at $150). However, they do have a max-out policy, but you get more for your money unless you were planning on iZigg's $1500 plan. They also have a program with income potential but will only give you the details if you contact them.

Basically, if your training and experience is in MLM and Network Marketing, then izigg is a good choice for a mobile media MLM. If you are just interested in mobile media, there are probably betters options for a service that promotes your own business, and affiliate programs which offer the opportunity to make good money.

My final thoughts on this - if you are a good marketer, give izigg two years of your time to make a business and money from it. I wouldn't give it more time than this, as I do not see the company lasting forever with better options constantly appearing on the market. Wishing you all the best!
