Is LocalJobsForAll a scam?

I was in my favorite gardening forum recently when the topic turned to employment. As usual (and rightly so with the way the economy is going), there was a fair bit of moaning and groaning. Apparently there are some job scams going around, both on the internet and in real life. Some jobs advertise as salaried sales positions when you really end up just selling knives. Some websites entice you to submit a resume, only for you to receive nothing but spam in return for your efforts. I personally had a chance to experience the latter firsthand, in what I'd call a horrendous experience with monster.com. Someone mentioned a relatively new website called Local Jobs For All, or localjobsforall.com. I took a quick glance and thought it looked easy enough to use. For the sake of conversation, I decided to put this site to the test with a side-by-side review next to one of my favorite job search sites, Indeed.com.

This is what I came up with -- number one, they are both free. And that means 100% free and not even any special frills to those who sign up for a special package or anything, and that means a lot to me personally, if I am looking for work then chances are I don't have a lot of money to spend in the first place, if you know what I mean.

Now the second point was not so equal. First, Indeed.com gives you a search bar at the top to search from, and then a big list of jobs which can admittedly sometimes get confusing. Localjobsforall asks you to search the area and type of job you're looking at to begin with, which is not so great if you're just looking to browse jobs and see what's there, you may not necessarily want to pin yourself down to one job type to begin with. But the good news is, that was the only substantial complaint I had with the localjobsforall site. When all was said and done, I did find a few clerical positions on Indeed that I forwarded a resume to, I found less job listings on Local Jobs For All but they all were highly targeted, relevant and seemingly totally spam-free.

After waiting three days, I did finally get a call and interview with a company I found on localjobsforall, and no call backs from any from Indeed. So that's the definitive proof that the LocalJobsForAll.com scam is nothing but a rumor, and that you should definitely broaden your horizons when it comes to applying for jobs online. Click here and add the LocalJobs site to your toolbox and visit them today, it's worth a shot. I welcome any comments from people that were subsequently hired by them as well.
