A lot has been said about Bollywood copying movies from Hollywood and making money out of the plagiarized concepts. I do agree to the fact that India's film industry has always been fascinated with Hollywood in its own little way.

But what I fail to understand is the general perception of people who believe that Bollywood can never come up with original concepts. If we look at the previous year 2010, Bollywood has actually produced some great movies which cannot be forgotten. Talk about movies like Udaan, 3 Idiots and I'm sure even the so called 'Hollywood' would never be able to conceive such masterpieces.

There's nothing wrong in giving your opinion about a product but what's wrong is, assuming things even before you've known the product well. Indian audience has this fixation of opinionating movies based on their first look and categorizing them into imaginary genres. They also go to the extent of deciding whether they are going to watch it or not based on its trailer.

This really becomes a challenging job for the film makers as they have to try and bring out everything in the initial release phase, which is not possible in some cases. Let's say for example -- Luv Ka The End' a youth centric movie from the Yash Raj stable.

People have already started associating it to the Hollywood movie John Tucker Must Die' even though there's very little relation between the two.

Luv Ka The end is about one girl who's outraged by a guy where as John Tucker Must Die is about three girls who are three timed. Luv Ka The End is more about how the girl is behind the boy's life who screws her happiness where as in JMTD, the girls set the guy up to fall for the new girl in town so they can watch him get his heart broken.

It is clearly evident from the trailer that the movie is miles away from JTMD when it comes to characters, plot and of course the idealogy. LKTE is about a girl whose life revolves around a bunch of people, but in the case of JTMD it's about those three girls and the guy.

What I wish to convey from this article is that, don't judge a book from its cover, in the process you might just miss out on a masterpiece!
