Is The Teaching Job Right For You?

Teaching job is dreamed by many, but only a few can last under this occupation

. It is no wonder that many love the profession because it is noble in nature. In addition it touches many lives in the process and shapes the future of some. However, not everyone can be considered as a teacher.

Fresh teachers as we often see have that sense of spirit and enthusiasm to start work. But after a few weeks or months they got tired and exhausted to the point of giving up. However there are some teachers that in spite of their long stay in the profession, they are still enthusiastic as if it is their first day of work. Does the real question here is will the teaching job be suitable for you? Here are some questions you might want to truthfully answer.

Question 1: Are you patient? Teaching involves patience. Not just a short one but definitely a longer one. The said job requires you to meet and lecture different types of students. As such, some are just relatively noisy and hard headed that you can't simply threaten. On the other hand, it is so much difficult to impose disciplinary measures for you might be the antagonist in the picture. Thus, the only way to deal with these disruptive students is to be patient with their actions. Any teacher requires having that one in order not to be stressed and angry.

Question 2: Are you hard-working? Teachers do not only come to class and teach the lesson at hand. For one, they have many responsibilities to fulfill aside from teaching. Taking into account the lesson preparation already requires hours. There is also that aftermath involving checking papers and grade submissions. Thus what a teacher must possess is that value of hard work in order to finish these tasks with the best results possible.


Question 3: Are you dedicated? Teaching involves dedication to pursue the profession. As such there are many aspects that you must be truly dedicated at. One would be how you value all your students. As much as possible, you must never leave any pupil behind. In order to do this you must be truly dedicated and spend even longer hours in school just to accomplish your aim. The only way to succeed in teaching is to love the profession and the people involved it.

These are some of the questions that you must ask for yourself to determine if the teaching profession would be suitable for you. It is a kind of reality check on your side for you to be prepared both mentally and emotionally. After all, the teaching job is never easy at all, it only takes these attitudes to somehow make it fun and lighter.
