It Is A Human Right Not To Eat Junks, Guys

We used to call some of the fast foods which are poor in nutrition as junk foods

. However, these foods, although not so perfect, are at least edible. Nowadays, in China, there are real junk foods made by cooking the foods with the illegal cooking oil or gutter oil. Such oil is refined from the kitchen wastes or even the sewage wastes. It makes the foods really junks as to be able to do great harm to human health.

Considering the fact that 22.5 million tones of cooking oil are consumed every year in China, it means that one has a chance of eating gutter oil once every ten meals. How terrible it is! However, due to difficulties in collecting evidences and proving the facts, few gutter oil producers have been brought to justice, which made their activities rampant. Besides, various administrations such as health, industrial and commercial departments were not supervising properly, leaving loopholes for gutter oil manufacturers. Unscrupulous restaurant owners tried to make a quick profit from their used oil as authorities couldnt helm them dispose of it efficiently.

So, it is an urgent need for us to solve this problem because as citizens in a civilized society, we have the basic human right to refuse to eat the junks. First, the disposal of waste oil should be under the immediate and strict supervision of government. Waste cooking oil should not be allowed to be poured into the gutter. The government can set up special stations to retrieve such oil. Then, we can transfer the waste into treasure. Just as the Japanese government has done: using the gutter oil as the ideal fuel of dust cart. I think this is an efficient way to dispose the large amount of waste oil. Then the administration of justice should make perfect laws to crack down on crimes. For example, people who convicted of producing or selling toxic or harmful foods should face the death penalty. Only in this way, those gutter oil manufacturers or restaurant owners cannot commit the illegal deal without scruple. Last but not least, as college students, we should refuse gutter oil of our own free oil. It is better for us not to go to those unhygienic restaurants to have dinners, or we should suffer the risk of eating gutter oil. Also, this is an efficient activity to strike the abuse of gutter oil. If no one would eat those unhygienic foods, which are possibly cooked with gutter oil, how can the restaurant owners sell their foods and how can the manufactures make great profits?
