Italy Tours Are Waiting For You
Benvenuti in Italia! When you plan your next escape to this beautiful country
, take special care to fill your calendar with plenty of Italy tours. With its breathtaking scenery, rich history, spectacular landmarks and monuments, there is something here for every appetite. A well rounded day would include morning destinations, a wonderful lunch, followed by afternoon delights and an evening under the stars of Venice complete with a glass of vino.
The sun is rising on the Italian horizon, peeking out from behind the clouds and misty darkness and illuminating everything it touches. Brew a cappuccino and share it with your sweetheart on the veranda; this is the country of romance. You could schedule a guided tour on a bus, trolley or a train, or if you are feeling adventurous you can create your own unique tour.
The first stop is Rome, which contains so many enchantments. The Sistine Chapel with its beautiful painted ceilings, The Vatican home to the beloved Pope, and The Colosseum with its grand structure beckons to you. Also home to the Renaissance era, Rome has seen its share in war and suffering throughout its growing pains in centuries past, including Nazi influence and World Wars I and II. St Peter Square in Vatican City, the Arch of Constantine, and the Pantheon are also noteworthy.
Florence is a close second to Rome in Italy tours, for it contains the largest Franciscan church in Italy. This church is unique because it is home to the tombs and memoirs of Dante, as well as Michelangelo Buonarotti. In fact his finest pieces are found here, as well as the Galleria dell' Academia, which has many of the most known paintings and sculptures, including the unforgettable David piece he crafted. If you happen to be an art lover, make reservations at the Galleria degli Uffizi, which showcases hundreds of Renaissance art, tapestries and paintings.
Naples, which lies south of Rome on the coast, is weaved decoratively with ancient history. The National Archaeological Museum of Naples has Greek as well as Roman antiquities, Pompeii finds from local discoveries, and mosaics, gems of all colors and fine metals.
Those that have a passion for gardening will make time to visit The Orto Botanico, founded in 1545, and is the oldest botanical garden found in the world. Via San Biagio is the heart of shopping in Naples, with quaint shops and an endless selection of choices.
A gathering of 150 canals joined by hundreds of bridges across 117 bodies of land, we affectionately call Venice. Come aboard a vaporetti to travel the Grand Canal down the center of the city, and arrive in Saint Mark Square and Basilica as live music fills the night air. At Rialto Bridge, share a bottle of wine as you pour through the Market to partake in the local seafood delicacies.
Italy tours seem like a home away from home, for so much of its history has touched our world today. So much, perhaps you will lengthen your stay there, or promise to return again someday. Italia per sempre!
