New York Javits Convention Center was built in 1985. It is spread over 675,000 square feet area. Local residents usually called it as The Marketplace of the World. It is located on the entire block between 34th and 38th Street in Midtown Manhattan. It was ranked as the largest convention center in New York City until 1986. The architecture design was designed by an architect names I.M. Pet. The name of the convention center is derived from the late New York senator who died in the same year the convention center was built.

There are some interesting facts that are associated with the convention center. It is estimated that over 3,000,000 people visit this place every year. Convention Center can accommodate over 85,000 people in six events at one time. It has a glass lobby located the height of 150 feet, known as Crystal Palace. There is an auditorium as well which can accommodate 2,500 people.
Tips about the Center
The best to reach the convention center is through subway trains or taxi cabs. However, it is possible to walk to the center as it is located at a walking distance to the shops and hotels.

Javits Center NYC
Javits Convention Center is a great place to visit. It remains open for the visitors from 9am to 5:30pm. The easiest way to reach there is through the taxi cabs or subway trains. Convention Center doesn't have its own car parking. You have to spend $30-$50 on parking ticket at Javits Center.
Javits Center also provides services for disables such as sidewalk ramps and automatic doors. A limited number of wheelchairs are also available in the center but they are provided on first come first serve basis.
