Jay-z Tickets - A Yankees Fan At Heart!

Everyone is pretty much aware that Jay-Z is one of the Yankees' biggest fans

, but the most recent Yankees/Jay-Z related news comes with the revelation that a couple of New York radio broadcasters have helped put some of the rapper's famous ballads to work for the blue and white pinstripes. David Brody, executive producer of the morning show on Z-100, managed to rewrite Jay-Z's popular anthem "Run This Town" to make the tune a little more appealing to Yankees fans.

The lyrics now say: "Winning games like it's not fair/ The Yankees rule so we don't care/ 26 World Series rings/ Time to pop some more champagne." Will we now hear this jingle blasting through the loudspeakers at future Yankees ballgames? Apparently you'll have to purchase some Yankees tickets to find out. Also, see the rap star hit the beats live by going online and getting your own pair of Jay-Z tickets.

Jay-Z is one of those rap artists who actually came from a poor background and rose to become one of the most popular (and wealthiest) rappers on the scene. And he just happens to be married to Beyonce. Life certainly isn't too bad for this rough-rapping, Yankee-yodeling singer and entrepreneur.

Jay-Z's debut album Reasonable Doubt didn't reach the top of Billboard's album chart when it was first released, though it did go on to reach high acclaim among his fan base in later years. The record was mainly represented by the lead hit single, "Ain't No N*gga," a duet song featuring Foxy Brown. As the album gained prominence with rap aficionados everywhere, three other singles emerged on the charts: "Can't Knock the Hustle," "Dead Presidents" and "Feelin' It."

Jay-Z's follow-up albums proved to be even more successful than his debut. In My Lifetime reached number three on the Billboard album chart and Vol. 2: Hard Knock Life broke the Top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100, spinning off a string of hit singles including "Can I Get A...," "Cash, Money, Hoes" and "N*gga What, N*gga Who."

It was Vol. 3: Life and Times of S. Carter, released in 1999, that topped the Billboard 200 and featured two of Jay-Z's biggest hits so far: "Big Pimpin" and "Do It Again (Put Ya Hands Up)." On this record, Jay-Z collaborated with top artists like Dr. Dre and Timbaland. The Blueprint, released two years later, was also a phenomenal success, putting the rapper at the very top of his game.

In the midst of his widespread success, Jay-Z announced his imminent retirement after the release of The Black Album in 2003. It featured two big hits with "Dirt Off Your Shoulder" and "99 Problems" and easily climbed to the top of the albums chart.

In other Jay-Z news, Wale will be one of the many opening acts for the rap master on his upcoming tour. MC Wale is one of the top performers in the industry these days, scoring some top-notch spots at this year's VMAs, VH1s, "Hip Hop Honors" and the BET Hip-Hop Awards. It's another score for Wale, with tour dates alongside hip-hop king Jay-Z.
