Singer Jessica Simpson was recently seen with her new engagement ring when she went for the promotion her clothing line

. The man in her life is star NFL player Eric Johnson who has been dating her for the past 5 months. Simpsons engagement ring has a 4-carat, oval-shaped ruby stone flanked by two diamonds with a gold ring.

This ring is from Lane, a Los Angeles jeweler who is known for his celebrity bridal clientele. Interestingly, Simpsons ex-husband Nick Lachey had proposed to girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo just a week before with a giant Asscher-cut diamond, Jewelry expert Gus Davis of New York City-based Camilla Dietz Bergeron said that this ring was a rare vintage piece, circa 1900, costing atleast $100,000. He also said:This is a ring that will never go out of style and resonates timeless elegance. Original rings from this period are very hard to find, especially a ruby of this size and quality.

The patterns would be smaller than the wavelength of visible light. The properties of the electrons of the metal would thus be altered. The variation in size and depth of these pattern rings will alter the metals absorption and reflection of light.

This innovation does hold a key to a plethora of designs and wonders which jewelry folks could do with gold. I wonder how much time it would take to actually see colored gold accessories hitting the retail shelves.
