Keep Your Body Healthy With This Nutrition Advice

Eat more raw foods! Raw fruits, vegetables, seeds

, grains and even unpasteurized dairy products contain certain food enzymes that cannot be replicated in cooked food. Do not grow too reliant on thoroughly cooked or pasteurized foods to give you the nutrition you need. The more foods that you eat in a raw state the more critical enzymes you can obtain.

Cut down on red meat by serving more seafood. You may love red meat, but eating it every day is not in your best interest when it comes to nutrition. Focusing more on serving grilled fish, clams or tuna is a great way to cut down on calories, while still having meals that contain protein.

If your child is allergic to peanuts or attends a peanut-free daycare or school, try alternative sandwich spreads made from soybeans, sunflower seeds, almonds, cashews or other tasty pulses. These butters are not only good for sandwiches, but make a great substitute for peanut butter in recipes for candies, cookies and more.

In order to help your children best meet their nutritional needs, be patient when it comes to new foods. Young children are suspicious of any new food. They need time to become accustomed to the color, texture, and smell before they can even consider what it tastes like.

Try to eat foods that are high in fiber right before eating full meals because they will help you to eat much less than you would have otherwise. A good example of that is eating an apple before each meal, since apples are very high in fiber.

Apples are great sources of nutrition. They are full of fiber, including pectins, which help make you full, pleasantly sweet, contain lots of antioxidants, and in general fill you up without too many calories. Their portability also makes them great for having as a snack between meals or taking to the office.

Try to avoid packing your kids lunch with unhealthy beverages. Skip putting in a soda, some sugary juice, electrolyte beverages or energy drinks. Instead, provide them with either water, milk or soymilk. Make sure your kids enjoys these kinds of beverages, so that they don't try to purchase unhealthy drinks at school.

Choose to switch out your white bread and pasta for a whole grain version of the same thing. Many brands offer these whole grains in a format that still looks and tastes mostly white. You will increase your fiber and protein intake as well as help to lower your cholesterol.

Most of us have a "sweet tooth" that needs to be satisfied. How we satisfy it,though, has great importance for our health. Refined sugars, which are found in many processed foods, are detrimental to our health. Vegetables such as carrots, beets and winter squash, are naturally high in sugar and are healthy. For the intense sweet taste that we sometimes crave, honey and maple syrup are recommended.

When you go shopping, have a list of planned meals. Going to a store with a specific list will help you not to deviate from the foods you should be eating. This will also make sure that you have all the ingredients on hand to make the right kinds of foods when you're at home instead of ordering take out.

Those are sensible suggestions right? You probably agree. The hard part is actually following through on the advice. It's probably not realistic to think that you can suddenly bring to bear all of these suggestions; but why not resolve now that you will diligently apply at least one or two of the tips?
