The school came into being in the year September 1980 under the guidance of Mr. M.N. Kapur. Mr Kapur was a noted Educationist and recipient of the Padmashri' and Ex-Principal of Modern school.

The school inculcates in it's students values so that they have a scientific outlook in life and have an attitude of learning throughout life. Gyan Bharati school has a state-of-the art infrastructure that includes spacious well-ventilated class rooms, smart classes with Computer Aided Learning. The infrastructure includes smart classes equipped with Computer Aided Learning, Wi-Fi campus, well-equipped Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science, Junior Science and Maths Laboratories. There are separate Play Rooms and Activity rooms for Pre-Primary, Primary, Middle and Senior classes.

There is a well-maintained sick-bay where trained medical nurse is on duty throughout the day. The school has 100% power and water backup. Also there is a Public Address (PA) system and EPABX connections that helps in communication.

The campus of the school also has a functional Water Harvesting, Vermi composing and Air composing Units.
