Kobe Bryant Vs. Lebron James - Who Is The Best Player Today?

Kobe Bryant and LeBron James are 2 of the best players you will find in the NBA today

. You can't think of one of them without thinking of the other one. If you hear "King James", you think of "Black Mamba". Their names often times intertwine within the same sentence. Not only are both considered to be the best NBA players of this generation, both names have mentioned when trying to decide who will be the next Michael Jordan. And when two people are both considered to be the next Michael Jordan, you can be sure that there is bound to be some competition. This is where the Kobe Bryant vs. LeBron James discussions begin.

Some people may argue that Kobe Bryant vs. LeBron James is a rivalry, and that it is poised to be the next iteration of Magic vs. Larry. But is it really a rivalry? Don't two teams or two players have to play against each other in a game that actually means something in order for it to be called a rivalry? Magic vs. Larry began back in 1979, at the National Championship game which saw the Indiana State Cyclones, led by Larry Bird himself, take on the Michigan State Spartans, which were led by Magic Johnson. Oh course, the Spartans prevailed in that game. Then there were a series of NBA playoffs where the two faced off against each other time and time again.

The Kobe Bryant vs. LeBron James feud though, cannot compare with Magic vs. Larry, as Kobe and LeBron have not yet played against each other in an important game. Sure, they have faced off before, in regular season games, but those are really throwaway match-ups, as they do not mean much in the big picture of things. Nor can they hold a candle to an NBA Finals championship game. In fact, the two just faced off this past week, on Christmas, in a game which saw Kobe and his Lakers lose to LeBron and his team of Cavaliers. So what does mean in the scheme of things?

Absolutely nothing, as Kobe fans will continue to say he is the best in the world, while LeBron fans will continue to say that he is the best. Kobe Bryant vs. LeBron James is really not much more than a great topic for discussion amongst friends, so that they can argue over which one is the best player in the NBA today. Only after they meet in a playoff or championship game can this be considered a full blown rivalry.
