Label Up!
They say that first impressions last
They say that first impressions last. And with this, labels become possibly the most important aspect of a product or brand. With just a single word or a phrase, labels seem to say or speak a lot about a company or a product being presented. With this in mind, here are some things to take note of in creating your own
custom labels.
Appearance
First and foremost, your labels must be unique. Make your labels striking and appealing, so it wont be forgettable. If your label represents a particular company, its design must be in accordance with that of the companys logo or colors.
Color design
What better way to make your label more eye-catching than making it colorful? Nowadays, two types of color layouts are utilized for
label printing: RGB and CMYK. RGB (Red, Green, Blue) uses the three basic colors to come up with newer ones, while CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black) is able to create mixtures with a wide variety of shades and hues. Naturally, using CMYK is more costly than RGB; nevertheless, it produces newer colors with better effects.
Font size and shape
Font styles and sizes must also fit the label of your product. Smaller ones might seem better, as it may lower costs in
label printing. But keep in mind that having smaller labels takes its toll on the details necessary. Therefore, there must have a perfect balance among the label, company/brand name and any other important details needed so that the overall impact of the label would not be lost.
Type of paper
Last but not the least, the quality of the output would depend on the type of paper used in label printing. Glossy papers make your colors stand out and shiny, and although printing on grainier papers make your designs look dull, it reduces the risk of smudges and makes your design stick longer.
The type of product intended for your label should also be taken into account in selecting the right kind of paper to be used. If there is no risk of your product being in contact with water, then normal papers would be fine. On the other hand, laminated papers or those applied with a special type of coating is suggested to protect the label from washing of.
Ultimately, the overall outcome of the label would fall upon the type of paper used for printing, so choose wisely so that you would have the best value for your money.
