Superior quality natural stone tiles are generally measured by several intrinsic properties:

1. Resistance from Weather Factors:-

This is a direct follow-on from the previous stone tile property. Unlike some types of natural stone that are synthetically chemically designed, natural stone tiles have an innate ability to withstand tough weather conditions. Rain, wind, sleet &snow suffered in the UK would quickly make hard work for a fake Indian stone tile. This is fairly easy to explain &when I do, people tend to be a little shocked by just how simple this is & how, if I had not mentioned it, they would not have actually thought about measuring it. Solid means rock hard, almost impossibly hard to chip, scratch or crack. You can get a good indication of just how solid a stone tile is when you pick it up. If you are not confident the stones you are looking at could do this, always asks the sales assistant to prove claims of strength & natural solidity. If there is absolutely no rigidity or you do not get any sense whatsoever of frailty, then chances are it is a solid tile. A great way to test it if you could throw health & safety to the wind is to find the biggest hammer you can & drop it from about 10 feet high onto the tile. Of course, this is the infamous hammer test.

3. Absorption Of Water

All of our top quality natural stone tiles will propel water entirely, consistently & if you are contemplating buying another sort of stone tiles, such as travertine or imitation stone, always be certain you ask about the water intake rates, especially when you are looking to tile your bathroom.
