You must have listened to many types of theft. We have been listening about crimes and criminals from our early age. We have always imagined criminal with some guns or knives and with dark masks on their face. But with changing times, their have been rise in technologies and which have been used by all classes of users.

These classes of users also include criminals who have started using new technologies for better crimes! Yes it's true. Now criminals have started thinking of what is called as sophisticated robbery! Identity thefts don't have to take mush physical efforts. They just keep on observing a person for all day long. They try to find out any mistake made by that person which would help them in accessing his very private information.

People often make mistakes such as not hiding their secrete codes while accessing their credit cards or bank ATM cards. Such faults often cost them very huge amounts. Next thing criminals do is steal that private asset of yours and access it as if correct person is doing it. This means that criminal has stolen that person's identity. This is identity theft.

Origin and spread of identity theft

Talking about origin of identity theft, it can be related back to many centuries when there were no such technologies as plastic surgeries but still people were able to pretend as if they were some one else. That was an art which was used for good purpose. But now let us talk about recent times when there were inventions of things such as credit cards, mobile phones, computers and many such other gadgets.

These gadgets facilitated living of people and they proved to be as blessings of science and technologies. But soon adverse effects were to be seen. Criminals found out new loop holes in these technologies and started to use them as their new weapon for stealing others identity. Soon identity thefts started to spread from one country to another. Its origin can be noted some where in USA but soon was observed on larger scale in European countries.

It also affected smaller continents such as England and soon was observed in Asian countries also. Spread was very fast as news about identity thefts was spreading all over the world. Criminals came to know about such new styles of crime and hence evolved the spread of identity theft crime.

Many people were affected by this and even many organisations and companies suffered severe losses due to identity thefts. Thing to remember is that identity theft affects not only on individual level but also on enterprise levels.

Other affected locations

Identity thefts were largely spread in Asian continents also. Although there was not so much of technology hike in these areas, there were some other fields which were made profitable by identity thefts. Not just credit cards or credit reports, but there was rise in people using mobile phones.

This was the chance taken by the criminals and started identity thefts about such things. After all, identity theft can be reported if any of your asset which has your very private data is stolen.
