Learning Home New Born Photography
Photography can be a very rewarding and fun job
. This is particularly the case when you get to work with cute, new born babies every day.
The fortunate thing about photography is that you do not have be a photographer to do it! You can take great photos with a simple digital camera at home.
There are many things that you can do to improve a photo without purchasing an expensive camera, lighting tools, or backgrounds. These pictures may even turn out better than professionally taken photos.
Newborns are one of the easiest age groups to take pictures of because they are naturally cute. In addition, most their time is spent sleeping and staring when they are not fussing or hungry.
As a newborn baby has very little mobility with which to move, you are responsible for putting it in the position that you want it in. For the most part, your baby will generally stay in that position.
However, you should make sure that you do not place your baby anywhere where they may fall or injure themselves. There are several other things you can modify to obtain the perfect baby picture.
The first thing you may want to do is put a nice, plain colored sheet over the floor or the bed. If you place your baby on the bed, be sure that he or she does not roll off.
Even though he or she is newborn, it has happened before. Then, you will want to make sure that your baby is clean and that he or she is wearing clean clothes.
Spots of dried milk and baby drool show up disturbingly clear on newborn photos. You do not want these things marring your precious pictures.
However, do not change your baby into clean clothes until he or she has been properly fed and is completely full and happy. In most cases, a full baby is a happy one.
You want a happy baby if you are going to be taking pictures of it. Even if your baby falls asleep before the photo shoot, you can still have a great photo shoot.
It is not a requirement that you baby be awake for it. Some of the best baby pictures are of him or her sleeping.
When you do dress the baby in clean clothes, choose clothes that are simple and that do not have a lot of pattern or bows and lace. The fancier and brighter the clothes are, the more the clothes will take away from the baby's face, which is where you want your picture to focus.
You should also consider the baby's blanket or background and make sure that these things are not too busy either. Even small messes in the background can distract from the baby.
You can still doll the baby up and put simple accessories on him or her. A little hat, hair bow, or head band can make your new one look darling.
In addition, if something small like this adds color to the picture it can make your picture pop out. Even an all white picture can make the picture stand out because of the symbolism.
White symbolizes purity. Babies are pure and innocent when they are a newborn.
By emphasizing the pure aspect, you will have a cherished memory and picture of your precious little one. A particular blanket or stuffed animal can also bring lasting memories as that item shows up in other pictures as your child grows older.
When you begin playing with different positions that the baby could be put in, it is best to go with the natural. Unnatural poses will not represent your baby correctly and viewers can often tell when there is something wrong with them.
If your baby likes to sleep on his or her back, go with that. If he or she prefers the side, then work with that.
One mistake that is often make with baby shots is that too much empty space is left around the baby. Generally, the closer you go the better.
The closer you get to the baby, the more detail and innocence you will be able to capture. Even if you do a formal photo shoot with your baby, make sure that you keep your digital camera on hand.
There will probably be some precious moments that you will want to capture. If you do not have your digital camera with you, you will probably miss capturing this precious memory and adding it to your scrapbook.
