Legally Blonde is a stage musical with lyrics and music by Laurence O'Keefe and Nell Benjamin. The concept is loosely based on the novel of the same name by author Amanda Brown and is adapted from the 2001 film Legally Blonde. Legally Blonde tells the story of Elle Woods and her enrolment at Harvard Law School in an attempt to win back her boyfriend Warner Huntington III. While enrolled at Harvard Law she discovers how smart she really is with the help of some new friends and her sorority sisters. In the end Elle ends up showing off how smart she really is when she defends fellow sorority sister and fitness guru Brooke Wyndum in a murder trial and wins.

Legally Blonde premiered on Broadway in April 2007 opening to positive reviews and grossing more than $1,000,000 a week on several occasions. Jerry Mitchell directed and choreographed the show and the original cast includes theatre greats like Laura Bell Bundy in the lead role of Elle Woods, Christian Borle as Emmett Forrest and Richard H. Blake as Warner Huntington III. Legally Blonde the musical as been nominated for a Tony award on 7 occasions but has yet to take home the statue.

Legally Blonde the Musical spread to the Savoy Theatre in the West End of London on January 12, 2010. The first cast included Sheridan Smith in the lead as Elle Woods, Duncan James, Alex Gaumond, Jill Halfpenny and Peter Davison.

Legally Blonde at the Savoy Theatre is the only West End show that has offered a ticket lottery. This trend is popular on Broadway but has never been used in West End until now. The show had received 2 million in advanced sales before it ever even officially opened.

The Savoy Theatre can be found in the Strand in the City of Westminster, London. It opened its doors on October 10 in 1881 and was built by Richard D'Oyly Carte on the site of the previous Savoy Palace as a platform for the beloved series of comic operas of Gilbert and Sullivan. This is how it came to be known as the Savoy Opera. The Savoy Theatre has since shown such classics as The Mikado, Noel Coward's Blithe Spirit, and musicals such as the revival of Fiddler on the Roof and Carousel. Legally Blonde the Musical has been shown since December 2009 and continues to perform to packed houses.
