Life is too short

Life is too short. How many times have we heard that phrase?

In movies, books, quotes or motivational speeches

I would say a lot, but have we really given it a hard thought?

Have we really thought about it and considered why life is too short?

Here is what I think.

If the meaning of the phrase lies in the number of years, I wouldn't say that life is too short; I mean 70 to 80 years are not that short, it's a plenty of time to experience every good and bad that happens in your life, to challenge obstacles and defeat them, to love and be loved, to cry and smile, to succeed and fail, to have big hopes and even bigger disappointments,

So what could have left to do? What goals are still there to attain? And what reasons bring us to want to live still?

Except for that greedy desire that makes us always ask for more

True, human beings are greedy by nature and the reason why a 70 or 80 years old man feels that life was too short is the desire for more.

But once again what if life isn't about the number of years we've lived, what if it's something else. Like the feel of it, like the spirit that drives us to enjoy every moment of life and experience it to the fullest, the moments you feel youthful and capable no matter what your age is, the moments you feel strong, capable and ready to take whatever that life may throws at you, the moments you start to think that miracles can happen and life can always get better..

Those moments when you really believe that life is worth living for

And if life is about how much you've had those moments. Well, life can really be too short for some people no matter how many years they've lived.

I mean people could spend their whole lives thinking that the fact that they are breathing is enough to know that they are alive.

And it's not; it's not enough at all,

So how alive you felt in those years is how much you lived.
