Live In Reality - Proper Exercise Is Non-optional


Whether we accept or like it or not, our bodies function better, have more chance of staying well and last longer when we get the proper exercise our muscular system has been designed for. Whether we choose to accept and act on this reality or not will affect both the short term quality and the long term quantity of our lives. To our ancient ancestors so long ago, physical activity was in fact, non-optional. Daily survival and their ability to pass their genes on to future generations depended on it. The hunting and gathering of food meant that they were constantly active. For us we have a fridge full of food in the next room so we literally do not have to 'move a muscle' in our daily lives. As our lifestyles do not contain natural physical activity that makes us exert ourselves intentional exercise has become more necessary. What's that you say? "It's too difficult finding the time to exercise?" Well if you want something bad enough, than you will find the time to do it, right? How much to you want to be slim? How long do you want to live? Do you want a disease free life? Do you want to have abundant energy or drag yourself through the day - each and every day? Only you can answer those questions. But finding time is not the problem.How much time do you spend watching television, on the phone, texting, surfing the internet or chit chatting? How much of your time is actually unproductive? Are any of these things more important than your heath?To exercise properly just 2-3 sessions each week of only 40 odd minutes of proper strength training exercise is necessary if some effort is put into it. If you choose to do useless low intensity activity that does not challenge your body in any way then yes, it will take forever, and you still will not get any meaningful results.Strengthening your body with proper results orientated exercise does not cost you time, it give you time. You have more strength, more energy, more endurance and more stamina so you can breeze through your daily chores and have energy left over to do some enjoyable leisure activities. Try doing all that when your body is overweight, flabby, unfit, weak, and drained of vital energy.If you believe that proper exercise is an 'optional' extra and that you really don't have to bother with it if you don't want too, you are living in some sort of denial. Every aspect of your life will be lower in quality - your physical, mental and emotional health will suffer - you can count on that somewhere down the track. The human body can simply not remain healthy and well with a lack of muscle strengthening activity as its 'growth and repair' hormones can only be stimulated by vigorous physical activity. The alternative is a downward spiral of premature aging.Realize that everything you work hard for in life, everything that you cherish will be for nothing if your life is cut short prematurely by a killer disease. Also, imagine how much better both your working life and leisure time will be when you are stronger and healthier. Bit of a no-brainer really.
