Living space as a living organism
The house and every space we occupy is a man's third body. Ever wondered why we compare it to a body?
We often hear - 'lets not leave the house alone on Christmas ' or 'Traditions and festivals are best enjoyed in one's own house!' All of us indirectly and sub-consciously respect each other's company and we feel the presence of this someone special in our intimate spaces :-)
In ancient Indian planning methods - this 'someone special' was the basic of all design. All spaces had living consciousness of an organism - portraying 'a person' lying flat on his belly - symmetric along a mirror axis and all fitting together nicely in a square grid. This depiction was just a guideline which was followed in all ancient structures from the Mayans, the Pyramids to temples of the Greeks and Romans! Building mass rules were governed by his inner anatomy. For example - his head area - the seat of intelligence and ability could never be weighed down with any form of structure because thats where the magnetic energy flows from.
The ancient architects and doctors knew this integral architectural concept known as 'Vastu' with all of Earths magnetic field, the subtle energies from Earth and Sun, the paths of Sun and Moon as well as gravitation. All those influences taken together, defined the quality of the room you are living in. They saw the 7 body energy centres or 'chakras' (as seen in Yoga) on the diagonal energy axis which were kept free for the same reason. An imbalance in any energy centre disturbs the body. Likewise, any imbalance in the bio-energetic field of this special person assumed to be lying flat on the living space influences the health of man as well as his mental and emotional status.
