Lollipop Lollipop Please Make That Commercial Stop!

There are a lot of annoying commercials out there

, and a lot filled with technical mistakes. (A macaw flying over a tiger in a jungle: excuse me, they dont even live on the same continent...but whatever.)

This years Most Annoying Commercial Award (well, so far this year) goes to the Dell commercial where the guys are singing Lollipop. For the longest time, I didnt even realize the commercial was for Dell because of how much the commercial annoyed me. (Yes, I am violating good writing standards by repeatedly using the word annoyed. But seriously, Im annoyed.)

The commercial opens in the dark. When the lights come up, you can see a handsome man wearing overalls standing at a counter. The next second, another man pops up from beneath that counter, next to the first man...and then BUTTONS HIS OVERALLS. Excuse me, but what exactly was going on there??? And then they start singing about lollipops, also known as suckers. Hello??? Dell...what exactly were you thinking when you approved THAT? And what does any of this have to do with computers?

The way the men are dancing around and singing, I feel like Im watching a cross between the Seven Dwarves and Willie Wonka on Broadway.

I did a little research about the commercial online and there are opinion pieces about gay undertones. I dont care about that at all. I only care that its annoying. If you Google lollipop commercial by dell, you will be amazed by the violent reactions! Some people are claiming theyd rather not have a television than have to watch that commercial. Im sure Dell is pleased that people are talking about it...but its not good. I find the commercial more offensive to my ears than fingernails on a blackboard!
