. As human beings we are easily inspired. Over the years, well built onscreen protagonists have drawn thousands of people to gyms. But the flame dies out soon; the will to persevere fades out too. Slowly but surely we slip into our old habits. Building a good physique is often a walk down a road beset with temptations to give up. You want to sleep late that one extra day, you want to hang out with friends that one extra evening and you want to eat a burger that one extra afternoon. This is exactly where gym and personal trainer mean different things.

Most gyms which are decent enough to deserve a mention have high joining fees. The monthly rates are way too high tempting one to take the quarterly or yearly offer. But it doesn't take lot of analysis to realize we are investing in something for a reasonably long period without knowing anything about the returns. This point alone stands in the forefront when it comes to hiring a personal trainer. One knows exactly who is being hired compared to gyms where the fitness instructor is not someone of your choice.

Gyms don't bond with you and since the instructors there concentrate on many individuals, it's very less likely they develop a personal interest in you either. On the contrary, hiring a physical trainer is like starting a relationship based on trust, that one would lead the other towards a healthier lifestyle. More often than not, it's the bond that pushes people to give the maximum that they have.

Going to the gym and working out needs dedication, time management and above all, strong commitment. How often in a gym does one check with the instructor about their improvement? It isn't hard to imagine how much more motivating it is to have a person watch you do push-ups and tell you that you have increased the number by 10 in a month or so. People often go to great extents to avoid distractions. Gyms could often turn out to be demoralizing or annoying due to others' bad habits. Noisy people, annoying characters, self obsessed characters, there are always dozens of them that would constantly test our concentration or attention. One would think, if time is precious and money has been spent, why waste it watching others. Hence a personal trainer who is attending you for the entire time you are together gives full value for your money.

If attention to your improvement is one aspect, the ability to prevent you from hurting yourself is the other great benefit of having an expert watch over you. That doesn't always happen in a gym. Sometimes we need someone to pull the heavier dumbbells away from us, or force us to put the back support on. We cannot put a step wrong.


All in all, we pay money in gym and still do lot of things ourselves. We get advice, but we have to enforce ourselves to take it. We are suggested the right diet but we may always let it pass. Once in a while we might be corrected doing a thing or two, but once in a while we might get away doing something the wrong way. Sometimes, we might miss the opportunity to appreciate ourselves, or even worse, have no one to congratulate us when we did the last pull up that was seemingly impossible for a few seconds. Soon the gym could turn out to be the place we are not too pumped up to visit. That's why it's advisable to turn to a personal trainer.

With a personal trainer, your progress stares through your trainer's eyes every day, and so does your guilt for missing out on one day or for neglecting the diet. You constantly receive feedback and assessment. You constantly are reminded, like couple of ropes holding you from falling away from the tracks. All in all, why spend more and get less. Personal attention is precious.
