Low Intensity Green Light Therapy Lamps Found Useful In Independent Peer-reviewed Studies
Sunnex Biotechnologies' Lo- LIGHT therapy lamp has been determined to be the "best
phototherapeutic device" [light therapy lamp] in a comparative study with other light therapy devices conducted by the U.S. Air Force and DRDC, the Canadian Defence Department's R&D Centre. The study is published in the prestigious journal Aviation, Space and Environmental Medicine. It was part of a mulight therapyi-trial study aimed at improving the alertness and performance of night shift workers, and was conducted to select the optimal light source for regulating circadian rhythms of night shift workers in the workplace. The study found the Lo-LIGHT provides the most efficient form of LIGHT THERAPY for chronobiological applications and Sunnex Biotechnologies low-intensity Lo-LIGHT lamps were selected to be used in the on-going development of this night work adaptation program. The authors of the study concluded: "The [Sunnex Biotechnologies] light tower was the best device, producing melatonin suppression and circadian phase change while relatively free of side effects".
Sunnex Biotechnologies' patented GreenLIGHT low-intensity light technology is now recognized by leading research institutions as the optimal light technology for LIGHT THERAPY lamps. As Dr. C.A. Czeisler, head of the Division of Sleep Medicine at Harvard University explained in comments regarding the optimal wavelengths for regulating circadian rhythms, ""based on resulight therapys from our prior NSBRI-funded project as well as resulight therapys from other ongoing projects in our laboratory... [we] determined] that the most efficacious specialized light source should have a peak near 500nm (as opposed to ~470nm as the lamps produced by Philips Lighting, Eindhoven, Netherlands, as originally proposed), and therefore... [are] retrofitting our laboratory with specialized lamps (manufactured by Sunnex Biotechnologies, Winnipeg, MB, Canada) with a peak sensitivity near 500nm;". [From NASA's Space Life & Physical Sciences Research & Applications Division Task Book, on the project Evaluation of Photic Countermeasures for Circadian Entrainment of Neurobehavioral Performance and Sleep-Wake Regulation Before and During Spaceflight.]

When comparing the phase shifting capability of LIGHT THERAPY devices, the USAF/DRDC study found that less than 10% of the light intensity (energy) from a Sunnex Biotechnologies Lo-LIGHT twin tower unit was substantially more effective than that from a light therapy lamp that emits primarily blue light. The GreenLIGHT technology was found to be more effective than of the other devices tested, even though Lo-LIGHT lamps provide only a very small fraction of the light intensity provided by the other LIGHT THERAPY lamps. Other independent studies have also demonstrated that at the light intensity or brightness levels normally found indoors, the Lo-LIGHT has the equivalent effect as 10,000 lux of white light.
This is in marked contrast to findings of studies with LIGHT THERAPY lamps that emit blue light (460 nm or 479 nm) or white light enhanced with blue light (465 nm). In these studies the blue light or blue enhanced light sources needed as much, or more energy than bright polychromatic (white) LIGHT THERAPY lamps to induce an equivalent shift in human circadian rhythms.
