Application Architect: Just as a construction architect would design the framework of the building and present it to the contractor, an applications architect designs the framework of a business application and presents it to their client. They work with the client to make sure the application that is designed meets the client's needs and complies with the vision of the business.
A Bachelor's degree in computer science or information systems is required, and a master's degree is desirable. The salary earned can be up to $100,000, similar to a lead application developer.
Messaging Administrator: A company needs to be in sync with one another, and a messaging administrator caters to this need. Their primary job is to design and maintain e-mail systems, servers, and anything else that connects business employees' together.
If there are any requests or problems from the client in relation to the communication system, the messaging administrator is the one to help the client and solve application problems.
A Bachelor's degree in computer science is required. The salary earned is also up to $100,000 or more.
Network Manager: This job is the conduit between the client, the IT team, and the created network. A network manager deals with the day-to-day operations of a client's network, making sure it is keeping up to speed with the client's wants and needs. They also work with the development team to troubleshoot network problems and look for solutions.
Ten years or more of experience with maintaining a network is required. The salary ranges anywhere between $75,000 and $100,000.
Senior IT Auditor: These workers are essentially the "security force" for the client's network system. They make sure that the operations of a business' network comply with federal information laws.
They also make sure the client's electronic data is secure and immune to dangerous outside sources. This gives the client the assurance that their information is confidential and will not be jeopardized.
This is one of the fastest growing careers in IT because of the recent influx of new federal information laws that businesses have to adhere to. A good IT auditor could make upwards of $100,000 a year.
Senior Web Developer: A senior web developer deals with a client's operations online. Whether it's the company's web site or a different company application on the web, the web developer designs and implements these applications.
A Bachelor's degree in computer science or electrical engineering is needed, plus experience with a different variety of Web technologies. A senior web developer has the chance of a salary around $100,000.
Tier 2 Helper: A Tier 2 Helper is essentially the representative for technical support. They respond to calls or e-mails when clients have network problems.
When a client has a problem that cannot be solved by a Tier 1 helper, the client is then transferred to a Tier 2 helper. If the problem is too difficult to be solved over the phone or e-mail, then the Tier 2 helper will visit the client's office and try to solve the problem directly.
Tier 2 Helpers usually have 2 to 4 years of work experience under their belt. The salary ranges from $35,000 to $45,000.
