Around here are a lot of historical monuments and buildings including Fort Santiago, Casa Manila, Manila Cathedral, and more. Manila Zoo is popular for a family outing. Roxas Boulevard Baywalk is a good place for a fashionable walk and people watching. Travelers can also take the Pasig River Ferry, which cruises around the Metro Area. Corregidor Island is a short day trip from Metro Manila. It has an old Spanish lighthouse and museums.

Some of the most popular bars and restaurants frequented by foreigners in Manila are in the Makati area. Three of these places are located in the Glorieta III Ayala Center Building. They are TGI's, Hard Rock Caf, and Street Life. The first two of these are American style fare and entertainment with excellent service and food. The latter is a bit more of an exotic hotspot with wide array of international food choices, and a dazzling dcor. Other areas for nightlife are Remedios Circle, Malate, and Maria Orosa Street. Make sure to bring plenty of small bills for the taxi drivers who will pretend that they have no change for bigger bills.
