In the Regular Candidates with the Necessary Basic Skills, are allowed, as approved by the country for higher education. For admission to Undergraduate Courses, the gaps in higher average PUC / Intermediate Examination or Equivalent prior to the qualification requirements as in the case of the admission of candidates for the States Universities.The Open University System(OUS)was established in 1985 to pursue educational opportunities in higher education without any qualifications. And to solve this system have completed 18 years from July 1, the candidate will be subjected to testing to ensure that education is

the training required. The Institute also offers PG courses in Arts, Science and Commerce as well as Professional Courses such as M.Lib.Sc, M.B.A., M.Sc. (I.T) and M.C.A. Both at the UG and PG levels there is a blend of conventional and innovative courses to strike a balance. The courses provide scope for learners to improve their potential to became suitable candidates for jobs. The Institute also offers courses in Indian Music at the Under Graduate and postgraduate levels thus promoting fine arts and Indian culture.

The IDE Previously offer and M. Phil seven disciplines, namely, Tamil, English, History, Economics, Rrade, Public Administration and Political Science and Bachelor Courses at the Open University system in 2007.

Undergraduate level Offered the following courses: BA (Tamil, English, Urdu, History, Public Administration, Economics, Vaishnavism, Christian Studies), B. Litt. (Tamil Literature) BA (mathematics, geography, psychology), B. Music, B. COM. (Trade, Cooperation, Corporate Secretary, Bank Management), BBA (Business Administration) BCA (Computer Applications).
