Marble tiles are a delicate stones that differs from other natural stone because it is very absorbent. It allows dirt and stains to set in and be retained far more easily than denser stones.

And because of this, marble stones cannot withstand any harsh cleaning mediums, especially using harsh detergents and acids.

You have to keep in mind that marble tiles have an unstable chemical mixture and it is delicate. Calcium carbonate is the main ingredients of the marble stone which immediately and dramatically reacts with any kind of acid that can result to scarring.

If you want to maintain the clean and appealing look of this stone, then you have to clean it with lukewarm, soft cloth and use non-abrasive industrial detergents. After cleaning it with water solution, you have to thoroughly wipe it with dry cloth.

If you want to add protection for your marble tiles, you can apply a light coat of wax. But this is only optional since the tiles does not gain extra luster with the wax unlike those woods. Keep in mind that cleaning the marble stone is quite easy provided that you know what you are dealing with.

It is very important to know that marble stone is gorgeous material and there is no other man-made component can be compare with its luxurious design and structure. It is a stone but definitely not hard as granite. It has the ability to last longer provided it is properly maintained and care of. And since it is porous and sensitive to acidic substance such as juice, wine and coffee, it can easily get stained or dull the polished rather easily even if it is sealed.

Installing marble tiles with your bathroom or kitchen would not be a good idea but still there are other people who insist to install them with these areas of your home. It will be best with the powder bath, table tops, tub surrounds, floor tile and stone fireplace surroundings. And because of this, materials used in cleaning these tiles are getting very in demand. With the proper maintenance and upkeep, it is not difficult to clean these tiles at all. To keep it shiny and sparkling always, you have to make sure that it is free from dust and dirt every day.

In cleaning these tiles, you have to sweep the floor often with soft bristled broom or use the vacuum to get rid of that loose dirt. This routine is can be done every day or two to three times a week.

Keep in mind that it is always important to get rid of that loose dirt because it can ground in as people walk across the floor. This can cause scratch for your marble tiles. You can also ask people to take off their shoes as they step with your marble flooring to avoid dirt and mud get into your flooring.
